With a love and admiration for nature and a keen sense of smell, Anu Prestonia began studying and practicing the art of perfumery in 2009. Her work with botanicals first began in the late 70s when composing healing medicinal oils for her clients’ hair and scalp at her renowned natural hair care salon, Khamit Kinks. 

Anu enjoyed the discovery process and skillfulness of formulating her hair and skin products, but as time passed, she transitioned to the artistry of compounding perfume-grade oils and resins to create botanically based perfumes. Now, her focus is exclusively on the magic and allure of natural perfumes.

She has studied perfumery with acclaimed perfumers such as American “nose” Mandy Aftel, the late British natural perfumer Alec Lawless, award-winning master perfumer Kedra Hart, and JK DeLapp, a perfumer and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Anu continues to be fascinated by the captivating pull of the oils from exotic florals, spices, citruses, barks, leaves, and herbs she uses and the magnetism they create. From these essences and plant-based ingredients, she produces her exquisite formulations, born of inspiration and beauty, working in tandem. She has experienced and witnessed the influence of fragrance, not only on the human heart, but also on our minds and spirits.
